Fishing Trips

Join Tangent Outfitters for an incredible fishing experience on the New River.  Our guides have years of experience in guiding, fishing and navigating the New River and your guide will put you on the fish.  The New River is one of the nation's foremost rivers for smallmouth and Tangent Outfitters has decades of professional guiding experience. You will get HOOOKED!  We have been guiding on the New River since 1992 and love to share our knowledge of the New River with other anglers.

You bring your rod and tackle and we take care of the rest. You and your partner will be in either a self-bailing raft or cataraft specifically designed for float fishing. Just sit back and cast away as your guide puts you on the fish. Whether you choose to cast a fly or throw a spinner, crank or jerk bait, we will get you down the river in comfort and style. For smallmouth we recommend a medium action spinning rod with 8lb test or a 5-7 wt. fly rod with a 9' leader.  We have rods available if needed.  Minimum 2 people.
